Australian Earthmoving Magazine News:

There are plenty of good reasons to be an exhibitor, or plan your visit to the 2018 National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo which is being staged for the third year.

Held at the Panthers Penrith from Friday 13th April to Sunday 15th April 2018, the best and latest in equipment and services for the Australian earthmoving industry is on show.

Huge range of attachments

Leading industry suppliers such as Auger Torque are back again in 2018 to show customers how their solutions can make their job easier, more efficient and of course more profitable. The company says the Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo plays a vital part in the future success of the equipment industry.

In 2017 Auger Torque introduced its Alignment Monitor as well as its XHT series of screw-pile drives (up to 250,000Nm of torque) which received an unexpected number of enquiries from within Australia and from earthquake prone New Zealand.

GPS services

Position Partners is again mounting a large display of positioning and machine control solutions for surveying, civil contracting, earthmoving, mining and building activities. Its equipment being displayed include GPS, survey, laser levelling and machine control equipment.

For example, its Topcon GPS is being used by Koppens Developments which is upgrading 22-kilometres of dirt road as part of 200-million-dollar Peninsula Development Road project at the northernmost tip of Australia.

“We run Topcon machine control and survey equipment for all our earthmoving and as-built checks,” explained Koppens Director Scott Koppen. “Initially we started off the project last year using Topcon GPS systems on our excavators to shape the batters,” he added.

Koppens is currently running Topcon Millimetre GPS systems across the graders, paver and milling machine. This technology is designed to deliver extremely fine tolerance accuracy through a combination of GNSS and laser systems.

Supporting the big gear

Other exhibitors whose services are critical in supporting all types of earthmoving equipment include Hydraulic Steels Australia. An Australian owned and operated company, it supplies and stocks precision steels to support the hydraulic cylinder manufacturing and repair markets.

They carry sizes of steel that target specific OEM machines to service the construction, mining, transport, waste, agriculture and forestry and Industries. Tubes and bars are delivered anywhere in Australia, and there is a cutting service which allows custom orders to be produced to exact requirements.
